Paramount says first-week sales numbers for its HD DVD release of 'Transformers' top those of any other high-def disc released on either next gen format to date.

According to a just-issued press release from Paramount, the HD DVD edition of 'Transformers' sold over 100,000 units in its first day of release, and went on to sell an additional 90,000 units over next six days, making it the fastest and best-selling week one release on either high definition format, as well as the best selling HD DVD ever.

I was coming in here to post this, but once again you show your superior taste sir.

Copies of this cinematic abortion should have locater chips in them so that the offending parties can be tracked down and taken care of- preferably euthanized but certainly sterilized at the very least.

Transformers had me so totally fuckin confused.

I walked out after seeing it with my friends not really happy with it, but at the time I thought "Eh, wasn't a waste–still had fun."

Looking back....no, no no.  I was being fucking stupid.  It was so awful, and my friends still say it was the coolest movie they saw over the summer.  I try to argue, and then I remember that I sound like an internet fagbag when I do.  So I simply nod and say "okay."

Yes.

Wow, how fucking bad was that movie.

God, if there's one movie people needed to buy on HD DVD, it's not this. Blecch.

Why is being an internet fagbag such a bad thing? I'm fed up with the whole 'people on internet are dumb elitists' concept. It's fucking true. Real-life people are distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

It's fun as far as action go.  i couldn't even tell you what happens in between the action scenes in the last half of the movie.  I remember thinking "whatsherface there is hot" and "shia is kinda cute" but that's all.

i looked for it yesterday and i couldn't find it anywhere in SW Houston.  I heard it looks amazing, so I figured I'll buy it for shits and giggles.

Transformers was the 21st century's Independence Day.

Except I liked the corn in that movie. And it had coherent action sequences.

UNLIKE TRANSFORMERS. Jesus, that last battle sequence was so fucking confusing and horrible. What a fucking disappointment.

No, except it's not the 21st century equivalent of Independence Day.  For example, Transformers sucks.  and Shia is no Will Smith:

Transformers is exactly how a real life version should be, jeez its like you guys expect it to be Citizen Kane.

and even if he is not will smith,  Megan Fox makes up for it in spades.

The movie is terrible.  There's almost literally nothing good about it other than Shia.  And I'm only saying "almost" because there might be some unimportant good thing that I am forgetting.

It has its flaws, and a lot of them, but what movie of this kind doesn't? Its a worthwhile two and some hours.  It is fun and nothing more.

Worthwhile 2 and some hours?  A movie--any kind, not just action movies--needs a damned good reason to be anywhere near as long as Transformers was, and Transformers didn't even give a worthwhile reason for its existence, aside from exploiting the stupidity of Americans.

I haven't seen the movie, cuz it's based on an 80s kids toy franchise that didn't interest me even as a kid in the 80s, but I really like the designs of the robots.  I love overdesigned shit.

Don't tell me! I bought Bram Stoker's Dracula on Blu Ray!  I know that HD makes everything better, but saying it makes Transformers better is like saying, I dunno, Tunak Tunak Tun makes 9-11 acceptable.
