Are you SUPPOSED to start on basic training in Halo 3 MP?

I always get matched with people much higher than me.  I don't remember this problem with Halo 2.  Also, why are there ranks and levels?

You should want to be matched with people of high ranks than you.  IIRC, it helps you rank up faster.  Also, I think it has more to do with your skill number than it does with your rank, which also contributes to how fast you rank.

The ranks are there as an incentive to continue playing, I guess.  After you reach Lieutenant and get the achievement, you aren't really rewarded with anything else beyond that point.  Maybe armor?  Don't know.

I see.  The new gametypes are kind of weird (it's always snipers) so I'll play around with the different ones to see how much they changed everything.  What's the closest one to Team Skirmish?

I'll be home in 5 hours time, Im not sure how to set up the game though as this whole xboxlive thing is new to me, Im sure you'll know what youre doing. I dont have a headset either, is that necessary? Anyway Im all online and Ive added you as a friend and stuff so we should be good to go. Im only up to the 3rd stage I think

I'll look up how we have to send invites for co-op games.  I think it's the exact same thing but that you just go to the start menu and put your settings on "open" rather than "closed" so that people can join you in co-op.
