Again, I don't care about sales - sales debates with videogames are lame and there's really no contest. Guitar Hero has the brand, the price advantage and is available to more people. I'm talking about the GAME.

Well, Rock Band has to be at least 3 times better than Guitar Hero to keep up the entertainment to dollar ratio.

If the drums are as awesome as they appear to be, Rock Band wins; case closed. And the promised DLC! Drumming through Keith Moon's parts in Who's Next is going to be nothing short of fuck awesome.

I'm buying it. I think it''s pretty cool that you can play through the game four different times with the various instruments, so replay value's pretty high. My friends and I are all in our mid-30s, so we don't go out much, and this is a good Friday night get-together-drink-and-goof-off type of game. Hopefully you don't have to unlock a bunch of shit just to play all the songs like GHII. I still haven't unlocked anything in that game because I don't give a fuck about unlocking stuff or "mastering" it, I just want to bullshit around on it with my friends.

Well, I am still all aout GHIII, even after Patel's kinda disappointing impressions. I'll get more play out of it than Rock Band, and it at least appears to have a better out of the box track list.

I will probably eventually end up with both, but right now GH3 is m only day 1 purchase.

I played it today (with a strap-less guitar) and it just felt...off, but that might have been due to having to hold the guitar up as I played.

I mean I kinda hoped the formula was so simple that not even Neversoft could fuck it up. It looks like I was wrong.

I don't doubt that Rock Band will be the better game, but I'm having flashbacks to Crystal Chronicles. I can't imagine trying to schedule a fake band practice. Not to mention price of entry is steep. I'd love to strum along with Wave of Mutilation, but maybe I'll just learn it on real guitar.
