EWWW 480p IS FUCKING GROSS.

The aliasing is out of control. It looks like an upscaled PS2 game

The Wii's definitely getting traded in after Mario, which will also look lousy due to its low resolution.

I just can't live with this.

Also, demi, you were right: Wii isn't full widescreen. I had to adjust my image with Zack and Wiki because everything was slightly streatched. Now I'll have to fuck with my TVs settings every time I want to play with Wii. Ps3 and 360 both don't have issues with this.

I have no problem with it being 480p jagged Gamecube games, but if it's Widescreen, it should be widescreen! All I've got is nothing but lies!

This kind of cheating is very common. People noticed the same thing with God of War.

The Wii's garbage image quality at work again.

How could Nintendo have the nerve to cheap out on the quality of its video transmission at the EXACT era where everyone and their cousins is getting bigass 1080p HDTVs? GameCube stuff played on the original units with component cables looks absolutely glorious in comparison.

Sadly, I'm not ever trading mine back in because of Fire Emblem, but for most great Wii games I'll probably wait for a backwards-compatible Wii-2 before really playing them, so that it looks at least remotely decent on an HDTV.

You know what it looks like? It looks like when I am playing a game on my monitor that does not support native resolution (which I guess is the case here, actually). It's very blurry looking, and the increased native resolution over the image resolution makes aliasing a major issue. There are pixel steps everywhere, edges of objects are a shimmery mess, and everything else is ridiculously blurry. It's a pity, because I can tell that it's otherwise a nice looking game. Nintendo's shitty technology is making people with quality displays suffer. This is shit. The Wii should have bombed.

Well, I don't blame it all on Nintendo. There're still a couple of Xbox/PS2 games that I might play some day which is why I didn't throw out the CRT. Sony/MS keep telling us how their next-gen consoles are 1000 times more powerful yet they apparently can't emulate last-gen games in HD.

I'm on 50" here, so Wii games probably look a bit worse for me.

Actual game impressions: it's pretty cool so far. I am only ten minutes in, so that could change. The art style is nice and consistent and the game features use of the wiimote that isn't half-assed.

Well, the no marketing is forgivable when it appears that Capcom has sent a whole 10 copies of the game out to stores nationwide!

I am past the tutorial stuff, and this is really diggable. I am sure there are some annoying puzzles here and there, but I think that's a consequence of not only making an environmental puzzle game, but marrying it to motion controls. That said, so far everything has been great.

If you can stand it 4:3, you might try playing your Wii that way while still outputting 480P. It's much better(but still not great), really.

I haven't played R&C yet. I played the demo, but not very long. It's R&C, I know what it is. The series hasn't eveolved in like 6 iterations. I have no idea why the Sonytards go nuts over a 7.5 when that's probably all it deserves.

I find the dichotomy of today's purchases somewhat interesting. We have Zack and Wiki, which offers something of a new experience, but is ass ugly (thanks to Nintendo, Capcom delivered the visuals on their end), and we have Ratchet and Clank, which is the new hotness but has a vagina filled with cobwebs. Zack and Wiki is like the ugly fat chick with "character," and Ratchet and Clank is the hot prom queen with a dictionary's worth of VD.
