I work the customer service counter at a food chain and I've noticed that people buying cigarette's are the nicest people ever. Even when I mess up and get them the wrong brand of cigarette's they just smile (or something close) and point out the right one for me. Compared to the average customer bringing in recycling vouchers who fly off the handle and bitch when I ask them for I.D or the person wanting their one hour photo's in thirty minutes along with the five other people (there's only one photo developing machine behind the counter, people!)

So, how are cigarette's? What makes them make people so happy and nice?

I had a dream where I was smoking, and it felt like I was crouched behind a car and swallowing the exhaust. Is that how smoking feels like?

They weren't smokers, they just needed an excuse to chat you up. I would have done the same thing.

Is there a difference between hard packs and soft packs? Methanol? How does it taste like? Do you get tingly the first tme you suck in the smoke? I really am curious, and just that close to just trying it out myself if I wasn't so afraid of spending five bucks on just trying one cigarette. $:-\$

Anyway yeah smoking usually makes you get friends who also smoke. Its like a social circle of smokers.

It's an absolutely filthy habit. The last thing I want to do is smell someone's smokey breath, or worse: kiss them. Smoking is the ultamite turnoff for me. If a chick smokes, I lose all interest.

I used to smoke a little less than a pack o' day, from the time I was 19 until my mid 20's sometime. Really, really loved to smoke at first. Certain things become ceramonies: the first smoke of the day, smoking on the shitter (BEST SHITS THAT WAY, anyone who says otherwise is a liar or never smoked), flipping one cigarette over before smoking the pack - always the same position in the pack (mine was the fourth from the lower-left) and that was your "lucky" one that you smoked last, etc etc.

It was just something I had to have. Never had an addiction so powerful. Until I started drinking and smoking ganja a lot, now I can't stop doing either of those! Whatever. At least I don't smoke fegs anymore.

Camel regulars when I first started because I needed to smoke something with an identifiable filter; i couldn't fuck with the all-white Marlboro Lights for asthetic reasons. Then I graduated to Camel Wides, holy fuck. Then I switched back to Camel regulars, and then I decided I would smoke Marlboro Lights - mainly b/c my roommates and the people I rolled with smoked that kind, and you would be surprised at how smokers tend to kinda eventually switch to the same kinda smoke that their crowd does, sort of like how girls can eventually synch up their periods after spending lotsa time with each other but I digress.

And throw some Newports in once in a while.

I used to smoke cigarettes, but I dropped it before I got married cuz well, it's really gross when you think about it. Man, quitting sucks -- especially when you're an overworked grad student in CS.
