He just left me an excessively strange voicemail. Rather interesting. He opens the voicemail by recounting an incident that happened in grade school, he said, 4th grade. I didn't recall what he said as, well, ever happening; as a matter of fact, I was never friends with this person after 6th or 7th grade when he moved away, and I don't think I saw him more than a handful of times after that. So he calls with this anecdote, and it takes me a minute to even remember who the fuck he is, and when I finally did, the first thing that popped into my head was "Why the fuck is he calling me?" I wondered where he got my number, but I'm sure he either directly or indirectly knows people that have my number. Still, weirdness abounds.
Anyway, after the anecdote and like two other sentences where I wasn't paying attention because I was trying to figure out what was going on, hd mentions that he just got married a month ago. Curiously, he went into a bit of detail on this, saying that he only met the girl a few months before. It seemed like an out of place detail. He didn't indicate that he married someone I know or anything. He basically just pointed out that he got married to someone that he barely knew. At this point, I was trying to put together puzzle pieces in my head, and I think I missed another sentence or so. He calls me after. . .let's say 15 years, and tells me that he just got married all of a sudden? He followed up with remarks about how grey and shitty the area (central PA, where we grew up) was. He kind of sounded, I dunno, crazy? But I don't really know the guy, so who am I to say? I'd say he sounded manic, but judging off a 2 minute voicemail message probably isn't so wise.
Somewhere along the line, he indicated that I was in WA. I'm assuming he talked to someone about me and got my number. He closed the call asking me to give him a call back, but the whole thing seemed really, really weird, and I deleted the message, though I kind of wish I didn't now.
Anyone care to take a guess what the fuck this was about? As far as I can remember, it's not like he was even a close friend of mine when I did know him.
It was just all very strange.
