When you get older, is there more real talk and less bullshit?
« on: November 01, 2007, 03:29:25 AM »
I'm talking about matters with the opposite sex. I wish women were just more straightforward and less misleading. Instead of making up an excuse not to go out on a date, just tell me you're not interested. My feelings won't get hurt or anything.

Is this just a high school/college thing or does it pretty much happen at all ages?

How old is "older?"  I mean, is there even anyone here over the age of 35?  Aren't most of us in our 20s and early 30s?

Maybe once you get into the real world, after graduating from college? I'd say I'm referring to 26+

people normally graduate at 22. but i was referring to once you're actually entrenched in the real world. i doubt there's going to be a sudden leap in maturity right after you graduate.

Nope.  It basically stays the same.  C'mon, I'm a cigarillo and I know that.  Women have their reputation as bitches for earned reasons.

I got an idea, date a chick that's in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, then get back to us.

I certainly hope there's more real talk and less bullshit.

Let me tell you though, that the oldish ladies at my job are petty like high school girls. :-/

I think that a person's decisions in their childhood/teenage years make a permanent difference in how mature they are.  It's sort of if they can stop being a mama's boy as a child or control themselves as adults the instant they get responsibility (~13) then they'll keep that attitude for the rest of their lives.

For example, I know some 12 year olds that I could talk to about anything and they won't be snotfaces.  On the other hand, I know some people in their late 20's that try to show off to you by taking one of your fucking drinking cups and pissing in it.  My brother threw it away and I pretend I forgot that guy's name and face whenever he harasses me because my brother gave him my number.

What I'm basically saying is that people who aren't mature are usually immature because they're really self-conscious about something in their self and that's something you can instantly tell because they always do something that shows that particular mental defect but there's nothing you can do about it.

Seems lately the big thing is for kids my age (mid 20's) to go out with women in their 30's... I *might* have a date with a 30 year old, if I do, that would be the oldest girl I've ever been on a date with (5 years older). We'll see how that goes, I usually prefer women 3 or 4 years younger than me.

Jesus, you guys make me feel like I'm too old to post here.

It gets worse, by the way.  Most women in their mid-30s are single because they've been divorced, and there's a lot of bitterness beneath the surface.

Tauntaun, rawk on!  8)

I work with a bunch of older people and they are really cool. Being engineers, they keep tabs on technology/gaming/computing unlike the technophobic stereotype older people have, so they are easy to converse with. Too bad none of 'em have daughters they can hook me up with!!!  >:(

Oh no.  It does in fact get worse later on.  The older women have had shitty experiences and will spitefully take it out on the next guy- which will probably be you.

Not to mention that women get even more batshit insane as they approach 30. it dips a little a few years later (if you're lucky), but probably ramps up again for 40.

A good friend of mine is 27 and newly single after ending a ten year relationship. Based on the crap he's gone through lately, women are no different now than they were in high school and/or college.

It probably doesn't help that he works in the videogame industry, so it's damn near impossible to for him to meet anyone interesting at work. Plus, all his friends are married or soon to be married, so we're not the most helpful at going out to bars and others places where singles come together.
