I've jumped off the Sam Raimi bandwagon since Spider-Man 2. It's plainly evident, from comments by long-term friends like Danny Elfman to his actual creative output, that the guy is not the same guy. He's not hungry anymore and all he cares about is numbers. I can't see how someone that would've jumped at the opportunity to make something as ridiculously stupid and awesome as Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash back in his heyday, would kill the idea completely due to irrational financial demands.
He is one of my favorite directors, but I can't really say I'm excited to see what he does next or that I'd like to meet him in real-life. I kind of fought the notion when Elfman called him a "pod person" during Spider-Man 2, but he's not the same guy anymore.
