Okay, I know I already started a thread on this, but this is something that's been rolling over in my mind.
If the writer's strike continues for long enough, studios may find that a good way to make money is to purchase the rights to distribute independent films that aren't affected by the strike. This would make for some good opportunities for beginning filmmakers (such as myself) to break into the industry.
However, the bad news is that the strike would have to last for almost a year before this is a reality. Which blows.
Anyways, I'm working on some screenplays now, just in case.
