I dicked around with this last night, and scribbled some notes in my head
* Game looks good
* Character looks like a queer
* His running animation makes it seem like he is dashing... but he moves like molasses
* Shitty lineup of first monsters (I chose the platypunk)
* Default naming is garbage (Mr Punk?)
* Battle music is garbage
* Capturing (Scouting) monsters is nicely done, I captured a Drakee
* Equipping weapons on monsters is simple, certain monsters can equip certain weapons
* Seeing enemies on battlefield rocks! Monsters around you also disappear after battle, no need to constantly fight
* Hard to run away from enemies on field - again, moves like molasses
I'll keep chiseling away, I think I prefer Pokemon though
