Drohne said headshots were one of the things he liked about the demo though.  I think I was able to hit a couple too althought they were kinda hard since enemies are usually a bit too far away.

Weird, were they one hit kill though? I noticed hitting one in the head once makes it easier to drop them faster but I was hoping for an instantaneous kill.

Oh well, like I said it could've been me.

TBH, I'm still not sold on Uncharted's "naturalistic" take on GOW.  An everyday man killing hundreds of trained mercernaries is just as over the top as space marines, IMO.  Since the premise is so ridiculous anyways, I would rather that the game wasn't trying to emulate reality and cutback on the animations that show how much Drake is straining.  Like Dcharlie mentioned, some of those animations to depict realism are just too overdone.

headshots with the pistol are always a one-hit kill -- dunno about the ak, since i never really used it. headshots are harder to get than in most games, since there's little to no auto-aim, and enemies flail around if you hit them anywhere besides the head. this aspect of the game is done really well, i think -- you can't just spray bullets in the general area of an enemy's head, and you need to aim squarely at the body if you want to put a few bullets in a guy who's rushing you

I dunno.  Making headshots that hard to pull off seem to belong more in a game like Rainbow 6 than Uncharted.  Realistic combat doesn't seem to fit with a game that's aiming to be like an Indiana Jones experiences.

Want to guess the reason for the region lock out?

Apparently ND didn't take into account that people in other regions have user accounts for regions they don't live in, so they had something in the demo point to an asset folder that was based on region. And since asset folders didn't exist for other regions the game went bloop when people in other regions tried to play it.

Supposedly Sony knew this would cause a problem but didn't let ND know until after the demo went live.

interestingly enough they say that the action/platforming ratio is 50/50. that is awesome.

that's a good sign.  i wasn't a huge fan of the gun play, i've got gears for that.  the more platforming the better.

yea eurogamer has good write-ups.  scores tend to be all over the place though so i usually ignore them.  from what i got from that article, uncharted does nothing new, but it's a blast to play.

Also sounds like your able to platform in areas where its not exactly obvious. So most of the reviewers probably did some "Run and Gunning" instead of exploring the environment...or something.

no matter how people try and spin, ps3 is hated apon by everyone..publicants and media included. thus they will do everything in there power to bring a ps3 game down so the mighty XCOCK! can come out on top.

I don't know DC, I'd rather have a Wollan than some of the Nintendo doods on GAF. Some of them are dilusional in a religious zealot kinda way (IE scary and creepy, like that Mario^_^ dude. what is deeply ironic is this whole "people are only hating it because it's on PS3" swings both ways in that ANYTHING on PS3 is hyped to the fucking rafters as the second coming of Jesus, who is getting a piggyback from Elvis, who is in turn using Princess Diana as a surfboard on the seashores of the lost city of Atlantis, whilst Bigfoot pilots his B52 full of Greys to the frigging moon.

PS3 fanboys are WORSE than GC fanboys - i don't know how they've managed it, but they've taken the crown. They have no amusing fanboy characters either - at least the GC guys had Gahiggidy and a few other top notch comedy folks.

Yeah, Wollan is vocal I guess so it makes him a target (Also places him as some sort of leader to the crazy bunch). There are definitely some delusional Playstation fans though, can't deny that.

Interesting - Wollan's very precise impressions of Uncharted on Amazon were written on the 19 Oct.

If Wollan's not in the employ of Sony, he needs to go see a psychiatrist.  Being that obsessive about Sony games can't possibly be conducive to a successful career or healthy lifestyle.  It kinda scares me that a person would waste so much time searching for videogames info and then telling others about them.

i trashed the uncharted thread in your name, dcharlie. i did get dinged on the light map remarks since the majority of the game takes place outside and i didn't play past chapter 7 (the light mapping crap is in 2-3 inside the ruins and a tiny part of the game apparently -- they didn't pick up on that as an indicator of my lack of experience with the game), but overall, it was a successful strike!

I love how Drinky riled up all the people that are far more guilty of the stuff that they accuse Drinky of.  Funny how they don't like the taste of their own medicine.  What a bunch of pansies. 

What game has Fafalada made?  I hate how he talks down to people when he's just a 3rd rate programmer that has a bit more knowledge than the average Beyond3d poster.  It's especially annoying when he comments on developers who've accomplished far more than he ever will.  Unsurprisingly, SFAGs choose to believe Fafa over the developers whose voices actually mean something in the industry.
