They re-did all the animation. It looks pretty nice. They're basically compressing the whole series into these movies...the next one comes out sometime in 2008.

As for what to say, well...it's Eva. If you liked it before, you'll like it now. If you didn't, nothing here is going to change your mind. The plot changes are all rather minor so far, and they redesigned the Evas a little bit (probably just so they could sell new Eva merchandise).

Im pumped. Slayers Next and Lost Universe re-releases are both slated for December, and I still need to pick up Guu Deluxe 2. ADV should re-release Nadesico and BBC 2040 ( I liked it so sue me )

I think they're re-releasing Nadesico soon, actually. I wish they'd do a remastered set for Dirty Pair Flash (I liked it, so sue me - I even have the music CD autographed by the actress who did Kei's voice!).

Dunbine sold like crap so I'm sure there'll eventually be a brick as they try to get rid of all those unsold DVDs, lol.

There was a Nadesico re-release but it was never sold in a brick, as far as I know. That's what's coming up. I have the original brick, tempted to re-buy it if the transfer is superior. The original release's transfer is shit.

One of the later volumes (10, 11, or 12, can't remember which) is IMPOSSIBLE to find, though.

The only reason EVA got a new transfer is cause the first release on DVD was such a disaster. Im actually really let down by the Funimation Slayers releases since all that was digitally remastered was the japanese audio track, and they even managed to botch the quality of the video transfer for the OP for each episode but only for the DUB. BOGGLE.

The art and packaging are fine tho, and the form factor is nice and well, its at least a slight upgrade from the CPM sets which actually had the 'rest of' the ending from the first series as an extra on the third set. LOL CPM BURN IN HELLZ!

I'm sure they'll brick it eventually...other series that have sold REALLY badly have gotten bricks, it's how they get rid of all the leftover discs, apparently.

MAF, I have the CPM Patlabor discs. Those are pretty bad.

This is probably still my favorite box set when it comes to production values, the anime inside of it is good too:

Pioneer has always been good about their box sets tho. That first Tenchi Muyo OVA box set was great too.

Pioneer. R.I.P. I have the Tenchi Muyo OAV box set and the El-Hazard OAV box too. I need to pick up Paranoia Agent and Gankutsuou boxes before they disappear completely.

I love the first El-Hazard OAV. One of the very first anime shows I saw in Japanese with subs.
