And unfortunately without the "quality control" part either (though the launch DCs were notoriously buggy).

uh, i guess it's the new xbox? i was thinking 'new ps2' this spring, when armored core 4, edf3, and senkou no ronde came out in quick succession -- i need nichey japanese games of that sort to go with the big names. but it hasn't really followed up on that. it's still a young console i guess.

I still have my original DC, though it doesn't work as well as it used to (takes some time for the disc drive to warm up or something).  If DC failure rates are as bad as you've experienced, then I guess the 360 really is the new DC in every way that matters.

The next Dreamcast. It's got a Sega Rally game, it's got a Virtua Fighter game, it's got a Virtua Tennis game, and it's going to get Ikaruga and Rez.
