On a 60GB PS3 on layaway at Kmart? I make ~160$ every two weeks.

I want one for Wipeout pretty bad, bought a PSP for the same reason.

What are the BC differences between the 60GB and the 80GB?

60 GB has full hardware BC, 80 GB is partial hardware + software BC

If you want REAL BC yeah, but dont expect a lot of return on your purchase till mid to late next year, if at all.

No, of course you shouldn't.  You'll get the same fun for less if you wait a year or two, especially since the games won't really start coming until then anyway.

perfect BC is nice and all, mostly because console hardware takes up space, but even if they don't get the software BC perfect, in a few years there'll probably be a smaller model of PS3 such that it + small PS2 = less space than a current PS3.

2 sony consoles is lame on an entertainment center, space issues aside. The wire situation in the back gets a bit crazy.

Just to give you an idea of my space and wire situation:

I'm sure in a few years someone will make a perfect PS2 software emulator that will run on PC, PSP2 and whatever else.

They still havent done that for dreamcast, and the psone emu is a stick in the mud as well. Emulating systems that run 2D is way easier than anything PSOne and later. Half the time youre just juggling random plugins and researching hardware compatibility with said plugins.

In short, emulation is still a bitch total.

epsxe wasn't great last time I used it. Some plug ins worked with some games. Id still say PS3 software back compat is better.

Well, that plus having the engineering documents for the Cell.

You need to invest in some shelving for your media.

Save your money for more important things. Video games are great but you shouldn't blow your cash on a costly expense like a new PS3.

If you need to spend it on games then I suggest picking up games for the consoles you already own. Wipeout will still be there.

Don't listen to this guy ^

Buy a PS3. You'll feel better for it.

It may be some other manga.  I looked the liked Dr. Slump, though.

There's still no decent Saturn emulator after all these years. :(
