This is just anecdotal evidence from several stores in a large region.

Sony must be making a huge dent in October and November's NPD numbers.  We cannot keep the 40GB 'tard packs in stock and the rest of their units are moving at a brisk pace (following the price cut) after sitting in backstock for ages.  I've gone through maybe three or four 40GB shipments already.  The Daxter PSP Slim bundle is also a huge hit and the PSP hardware continues to sell well.

Starting to see more PS3 software go out the new come new release day than PS2 software.

Xbox 360 continues to dominate software sales.  Hardware sales have slowed down since Halo considerably.

Cannot keep Wii in stock.

Sony's buying back most of the PS3s as a last ditch attempt to create demand for the PS3.

You should spread this stuff at GAF so they can spin it into Sony quadruples PS3 sales in november!

The lost of NPD data means that there'll be lots of made up stuff about how the PS3 is doing so well, like the Europe situation.

Anecdotal musings also suggest managers from videogame retail chains take each other out to dinner and wreck each others holes

It seems data will still be released, though.

We're not even in our holiday rush, yet.  The PS3 sales are more due to price point than anything.  The 40GB are flying.  Nothing is selling better, save for the Wii.  Microsoft am doomed.

My Mom's obscure cousin and my sister and her husband both just purchased Wii's. Nintendo isn't in the videogame business anymore, it's in the Wii business. Insane.

I'm not buying a PS3 until an actual decent exclusive that I give a shit about hits. So probably sometime around the release of Nobi Nobi Boy. They might even be reasonably priced by then!

I haven't seen an in-stock PS3 for quite some time. Haven't seen Wii's either, and the only 360's I've seen in stock are the Arcade packs.
