lollerskates, we're gonna be good next year man.  Full year of Tex, but more importantly we'll have Glavine back to eat up innings after Smoltzie and Hudson, then two of either Hampton, James, Jurrjens, Reyes or that guy Clayton or whatever that's kicking ass down in the AFL.  I easily predict a return to form (winning the division and losing in the first round  :-\)

Unless coming back to Atlanta suddenly revitalizes Glavine, the only thing he's gonna be good at eating up is your bullpen's arms.

Yanks already have Posada back and they'll resign Rivera too. He can't pass up $15 mil a year.

If you take out Glavine's last three starts, he's got an era under 4.  He also had 23 quality starts last year, and I'm fairly certain our 3-5 guys didn't have that COMBINED.

But have fun with Maine backed up by an ancient El Duque, a balky Pedro, inconsistent Oliver Perez and Pelfrey.  Oh yeah, and Omar will probably sign Livan because he can't restrain himself.

His ERA+ was 96. Fuck him.

Pelfrey :-\

Honestly, I don't know how the fuck El Duque does it, but having him as a 5th/6th starter/bullpen guy is great. Having to truly depend on him is when there's trouble.

I would like to see them pick up another starter somehow (trade whatever they want)...but I don't even know who's available out there. But yeah, please not Livan. Goddamn it.

Since it's Omar, you might as well get used to the idea of having BOTH Livan AND Bartolo.

And A-Rod!

A-Rod at 3B. Wright at SS. Reyes at 2B.

BELIEVE.

You got it wrong. David Wright and other dudes traded for Johan Santana.

Now THAT'S Los Mets.

But really why the fuck would Wright be at SS instead of A-Rod? :lol

If I were Omar, I would sign A-rod and trade David Wright and whatever prospects the Twins wanted for Johan Santana.  Why the fuck have two gay third basemen?  And it would fit Omar's MO of trying to stockpile as many latino players as possible, but this time he'd actually be getting a GOOD one.

Thankfully, Omar is dumb.

edit:  Ah I see you were thinking along the same lines, Juice.

Because Wright can play SS and A-Rod is much older.  SS is a young man's position.  Duh.

Wow, that was weird, Raoul. I meant to put A-Rod in there, too, but I figure it was assumed within the confines of LOS METS.

What Latin All-Star can the Mets get to play 2B?  Placido Polanco?

Then we trade WRIGHT for LATIN SUPERSTARS, put Cabrera on 3B, A-Rod in SS and put LUIS GONZALEZ in LF.

Putting Wright at SS is stupid for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which is that he's a shitty defensive 3B (don't get me started on that gold glove, for fuck's sakes he was the 5th worst defensive starting 3B statistically) and would make a shittier defensive SS.  Also, why displace your latino SS when you can displace and/or trade your gringo 3B for the best starting pitcher in beisbol, who also happens to be latino?

Finally, don't expect LoDuca back next year.  I expect they'll dig a Molina up from under a rock somewhere.
