I've been playing the sequel on lunch breaks lately, it's a nice little game... decent pixel art, shallow (but reasonably fun) take on the Tales linear-motion-battle, slight weapon customizations, a lighthearted tone... Problems are that it's really chatty and it has quite a bit of "need to talk to this character to advance the game, who could be in one of many areas but we won't give you a clue to where he is". But I kinda dig, the first Swordcraft Story was OK, although it was way too short (I finished like 1/2 the game on ferrying back and forth from Vancouver to Victoria

) and the lack of dungeon variation harmed it - most of the game was in that big 50f underground ruins where every area used the same tileset)
I'd say they're worth picking up if you're like me and doesn't mind a C+/B- grade portable RPG and have a soft spot for anime portraits and bright, colorful sprites/tiles, and lots and lots of dialogue
