It's PG-13. It was gonna be rated R but they apparently fired the director for making the movie too bloody and shot new scenes to ensure a PG-13 rating.
not quite, it was shot for R, and is coming out with an R rating, but the director was fired after all the post production was done and the final cut (with some reshoots, apparently to augment already existing action scenes) were done by someone else.
Hitman is rated R.
