If you were truly weak, you'd just buy another 360.

I've actually had quite a few people tell me to do just that.  Or buy one at Walmart, put the broke one in the box, and return it to get my money back.  Not really sure if I want to go that route or not.  Still waiting for my shipping box from MS though....

Surprisingly, J-rzez said that control preferences is why he went with the PS3 version.

J-Rzez said that?  Well that IS surprising.  Who would've thunk that he'd go with the PS3 version.

I swear that guy must have a Six Axis shoved up his butt.

360 version has better textures, more consistent frame rate, better lighting/shadows (as usual), less visual glitches and 2xAA.

ps3 version has better fog volumes for some reason, supposedly.

Aggressive modifier is mapped to R1 in the PS3 version and not R2. I think.

Man. Why are people so conflicted between 360 and ps3 versions? I dunno if this is just me, but even if I had a ps3, I'd still pick the 360 version for fucking achievements. They are a sickness.

McDragon: I went to Acre first, great area. I also stick around after the job is done and take the long way back 'to base' so I can try and complete a few more objectives and lengthen my sync bar.

My 360 has frozen on other games, but it's rare. It hasn't frozen on AC yet though. One game has given me the dirty disc thing, and that's Dead Rising.

i've encountered a bug a few times where if you fall off a high area and land right where the wall and ground meet, you'll disappear and can't move.  but if you're being chased, they can still see you and atack you.  they can't grab you either.

What city?

When fully opened, each of the three cities is probably just a teensy bit smaller than any of the cities in GTA:SA.  But keep in mind the layouts are different.  The cities here are much more crowded, but they generally aren't as hilly.

The important thing to realize is that the cities are like multilayered cities onto themselves. No city in GTA ever came close to being this "interactive."

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's a toughie and I can't really answer it being that I haven't played nearly as much uncharted.

I'll give the image quality edge to AC, though.  Uncharted has some shimmering going on, whereas AC is rock solid.  They both have minor tearing issues.  AC has far more people on screen at once, far far more, but Uncharted has more environmental detail.  AC has better lighting, too.

It's a tossup, really.  Both are the best looking games to hit this year.

How are they so multilayered? Do you mean being able to climb on top of anything or what?

I mean you've got the street paths, and then you've got the roof paths, and also there are intermediary objects in the middle you can use to escape.

This game must have had a fucking army of level designers.

That's pretty impressive that AC has better image quality than Uncharted.  Other than the tearing, Uncharted's IQ is quite nice.  Judging from the demo, Uncharted's one of the least aliased PS3 games and also has some of the crispest textures.  I guess Abrader's full of shit again when he said that Uncharted makes AC look last gen.

I dunno, in the jungle areas of Uncharted, I recall shimmering.  Nothing terrible, but it was there; on the edges of leaves and what not.  Like I said, it wasn't bad, but it's a nit to pick, an you're asking for nits if you want me to compare these two excellent looking games.  We, the gamers, are the winners here!

While that's true, GTA was never really about climbing on top of buildings and crap. I mean,  you can do it, and many extras and secret weapons are found in areas like that, but it's not an emphasis. Plus, do you really think they could everything Assassin's Creed is doing with last gen technology? I don't think it's fair to really compare that to GTA yet, I'm waiting for GTA4 to come out before I make a statement like that.

UC has some pretty awful screen-tearing actually. It also has a very cunning cheatsome lighting model that would do John Carmack proud, and it has a protagonist with the most gi-normous head EVER. There must be BILLIONS of polys in Nate Drake's monstrous celestial body of a noggin! I'd give the graphic edge to AC over UC -- barely -- although UC has the bestest water effects I've seen.

Well, they've got to look better than Mr Gay.  Despite all the rave reviews from EBers and pro critics, I'm loath to start Mr Gay because I know the graphics'll be shit.  If Mass Effect comes out before I finish R&C, it might be my next game instead of Mr Gay.

Uncharted does have some damn fugly characters.  Much of the visual appeal is lost because of the unattractive character designs.  It reminds me of the early 3d PC games which were great technically but had some of the worst character models.

Also, TVC, does Uncharted suffer from repetitive enemy models like Stranglehold?  That was one of the worst albeit funny aspects of Stranglehold's graphics.

ICO sucks and is ugly.

SOTC sucks even more and is just as ugly.

I don't agree. AC's character models are really awful. Watch Desmond's little girl toy talk and she just stares at you lifelessly.

Uncharted is going for a cartoony look. AC's visual presentation is so uneven in this regard, because Altair's model is ridiculous but even Desmond's is lacking in comparison.

I dunno. it's hard to compare Altair to Desmond. I mean, we're talking about 900 year time distance after all, so Desmond doesn't have a huge cloak with weapons. Plus, you hardly ever control Desmond, so it doesn't really seem like much of an issue to me at least.
