So I have pretty good repetoire with my dental hygienist. She says she's surprised I've never raised a peep at any of the terrible things she's done to my teeth. Not that she's done anything especially terrible; I've just been in for 4 deep cleaning sessions over like 3 weeks, so I've seen a lot of her lately, and every time she's been basically sticking a sander into my mouf.
I didn't tell her that I'm a masochist because that's how I got kicked out of my last dentist's office.
Anyway, since we've seen a lot of each otehr in such a compressed period of time, we quickly burned through the usual BS topics and got to what real people talk about: racist shit. She was telling me that my teeth cleaned off really easily. I made some comment like, "What, do some people have teeth that are especially difficult to clean? And she basically gave me a HMMMMMM before saying "Well, yeah." I asked if it was a dietary thing, and she said, in a hushed voice, "Well, actually, asian people, especially east asian people, have the most difficult teeth to clean." And I was like, "WOW! I guess that makes up for their big ol brains." And she laughed, and got into this detailed explanation on how the calculus on their teeth comes off like sand, whereas for most people of european decent, it comes off in big, easy to clean clumps, and that cleaning an asian person's teeth takes like twice as long as anyone elses. I asked about other asians, like the western dot on head indians, and she said they were generally a bit better to clean, to which I said something like "their teeth always look comparably white against their dark darkie skin." And she laughed. Then I asked about black peoples' teeth and she laughed and said "black people can't afford to go to the dentist!" And we both laughed like it was the zinger at the end of an episode of Charles in Charge. Then she gave me a bill for 1800 dollars.
