SONY FAMILIDOMINATION

R and C and PGR4 got crushed.  =/

Edit: I'm kind of saddened.  Considering the fact that this was supposed to be the reincarnation of the glory days of gaming or some shit, guitar hero 3, wii play, and brain age all top the charts.  Wii/Wii sports continues its rampant domination of the american market.  The only big production game that made huge sales was Halo, and maybe Orange Box.
I wonder if the industry will change?  Hopefully Mass effect, uncharted, and SMG make the lists next NPD.

That's pretty sad for R&C.  It deserves to do much better.  Especially since there haven't been much to play on the PS3.

It did better than Ratchet.   :lol

How many copies did AC5 sell?  I'm pretty sure that the drop from last gen is way bigger for R&C than AC6.  Also, R&C's dev costs were probably tens of millions more.

Uhh..I think Sony just admitted that their numbers from last night includes PS2:

About PGR4, according to pgrnations.com, the number of players that have taken part in online races is:

UK: 63,361
US: 43,397
Germany: 11,452
France: 11,028
Japan: 10,094

This means that PGR4 probably has sold 3 times as much in Europe as it did in the US.

Overall, PGR5 better come up with something entirely new or else this series is dead.

heck, i guess MS were smart to let go of bizarre.

And I really hope some more niche developers finally jump on board the Wii and give me my RPGs and quirky games!!! :P

Nice to see the solid 360 sales for a second straight month, too.

Is that really a strong number for the Orange Box? I realize the same content is also racking up fine numbers on PC and possibly *gasp* even on PS3 but it sure seems like the 360 version is worth $50 of about 1 million gamers' money. OTOH, if Gabe is disappointed, we can probably expect an even greater gamegasm in the Purple Box in 2008 :D

Unfortunately for Sony, even in a best case scenario, any company with any interest in profit (i.e. pretty much all of them except SegaSammy who wouldn't recognise a good money making idea even if it paraded in a "i'm a good idea!!" suit and put it's cock in their ear) are surely going to hedge their bet by (gasp) going multiplatform.

j/k buddy.

The Wii numbers are meaningless .. fuck that console. The 360 numbers are quite impressive, 360k for the October shows you that it has broken through to the American conciousness as THE next generation console.

This christmas is going to be a bloodbath. I expect it to sell 2.2 million in the next two months.

I agree with your assessment  but it's still the best PS3 game this year.  I guess most PS3 owners bought a PS3 for Blu-ray instead of games.

According to the SDF, PS3 will dominate 2008.  Let's look at their predictions for 2007.

SDF's list of games that will demonstrate the PS3's superiority and push it to #1 in 2007:

Resistance, Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5, Lair, Warhawk,Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted

Developers have to be concerned with the PS3 now. MGS4 360 is all but verbally confirmed

PS2 - 500k

Wii - 280k
