But it still sold very well, and it'll surpass 150k in November and December most likely. Impressive start for the series on the Wii.

Eh, still shows that 360 owners just fucking buy games like animals.

Except BD and ES  :'(

Ratchet and Clank doesn't deserve better. It's the same goddamn thing. Maybe this will have them reinvent their formula

Eh even if it is sort of the same formula, its fun.  I mean, mario party 8 is the most derivative garbage you can get out there, and its selling like a beast.  It may not deserve top 10, but Insommniac looks like they put alot of love into this game.

Mario Party 8 isn't the best example since most people hate it. :P

I wouldn't hate on Ratchet for being too similar. But I'm more lenient than most people, and if I liked the gameplay before, then I would like to see more of it (in whatever game) later on too.

It was the first one I played, so I guess I'm not really entitled to talk about it, but I feel like it at least deserves decent sales.  The gamerankings are good enough that I hoped the general playstation crowd would buy it.

I actually like those graphs that were posted at GAF.  The superimposed launch sales of the 360 and the PS3 are actually not that far off, but the PS3 is honestly going to lose.  It came too late into the market, with too high promises.  You can't expect to come 1 year after your competitor's system with a higher price and a anemic library and expect to suddenly come back.  Sony tarnished the PS3 brand, and the view of the PS3 is simply that its the inferior product.  I still have hope that maybe Sony will turn it around, but its not a very strong hope.

At this point, I'm actually wondering how the Wii will change video game development.  Will the next systems be exponential jumps in power?  Or will companies start looking to develop games with more accessability than depth?

Does Dcharlie still go to bed with his Dreamcast plush toy every night?

j/k buddy.

The Wii numbers are meaningless .. fuck that console. The 360 numbers are quite impressive, 360k for the October shows you that it has broken through to the American conciousness as THE next generation console.

This christmas is going to be a bloodbath. I expect it to sell 2.2 million in the next two months.

Every time a game company comes on campus to show off their stuff to the general public its always shown on XBox 360.

EA Sports: Always brings the 360 versions.
Activision: Rockband 360

Hell today was the University LIVE tour. They had a huge tent with GH3, Area51, Stranglehold, America's Army, Madden, NCAA, Blazing Angels 2, Timeshift, Tiger Woods and a couple of others that I'm forgetting (also WiC PC).

Number of PSN University tour events on campus this year: 0.

Seriously Sony how about fucking advertising!

Having never played a Ratchet game before, I wasn't too impressed with the demo, but I decided to give it another try and make it my first Gamefly PS3 rental (there was nothing else, haha).  I'm actually glad I did, because I've been enjoying it.  Yeah, it seems pretty familiar to other platformers I've played, but the characters are charming, and the graphics are good for the most part.  The Sixaxis controls make sense where they're used, and are responsive.  Not the best game ever, and I wouldn't ever buy it, but it's been a really fun rental so far.

If a Rock Band purchase doesn't work out for me (I'm already starting to develop a "fuck that game" attitude towards it), then I might use that money to show the PS3 a little love and get Assassin's Creed for it, and Mass Effect for the 360.

This definitely means Rockband for Wii.  I predicted huge numbers for GH3 for Wii.  It's the type of game that perfectly matches the whole Wii social gaming vibe thing.

Poor Ratchet, though :-\

Wow, for Ps3 fans MGS4 must feel like an eternity away.

This is very true. Take it from a PS3 fan.

http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/microsoft-hypes-xbox-360-momentum/18566/

Quote from: Microsoft PR
Immediately following the eye-popping October video game sales data, Microsoft decided to pat itself on the back and highlight several key data points of the Xbox business.

Here are some of the more interesting tidbits:

* For the month of October, Xbox 360 led in total revenue with $354 million compared to $246 million for Wii and $116 million for PS3.

* Xbox 360 software revenue at retail surpassed that of Wii and PS3 combined.

* For the month of October according to NPD, Xbox 360 software represented 54 percent of total software sales (at $162 million dollars) for this generation, compared to 30 percent for Wii and 16 percent for PS3.

* Xbox 360 was home to seven out of the top 10 rated games through the end of October according to Metacritic.

* Of all 3rd party U.S. software revenue in October, Xbox 360 generated more than double that of the PS3 and Wii. Xbox 360 weighs in at 57 percent with $130 million, compared to Wii with 28 percent and PS3 at 15 percent.

* PS3 and Wii combined had one third party title in the top ten console title list for the month, while Xbox 360 weighed in with 2. Since November, third party partners have seen their titles hit the top ten 29 times for Xbox 360, compared to 2 for PS3 and 2 for Wii.

* In last week's earnings announcement from Electronic Arts, Xbox 360 represented 50 percent ($218 million) of their total revenue during the third quarter. In fact, EA titles on Xbox 360 outperformed those same titles on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii and DS combined.

Why are there games from different months in the last part?  It doesn't seem to be based on the best numbers from each month either.

That's release month in the last part and it goes by total revenue, not units sold.

no Zak & Wiki =|

Maybe it doesn't make it because it is a $40 title, but I still bet it sold less than 25k.
