FACT

Either that or Blue Dragon, I'm not sure which got more unwarranted and undeserved ire from reviewers.

Blue Dragon is underrated.  I am rather confident that Assassin's Creed just isn't for everybody.

I'm talking about reaction to the game by either fans or critics. At least Blue Dragon was loved by the fans; most people who seem to be playing AC just keep shitting a storm about how supposedly OH SO BAD it is

There are several things in the game that I like, but I understand can not be liked by other sorts of gamers.  The game is easy, forgiving, and fairly slow-paced.  I don't mind that.  I like that, even, but I can appreciate that other people might not dig that.

I can't get into Blue Dragon either.  I tried, and that's saying a lot in my case, since I pretty much hate most RPGs.

Ordered Assassin's Creed today, with Mass Effect n' Contra 4.  I hope it's good after all the hypin' you guys are doing here! :punch

Yeah, I'm basing this off the demo but as far as Tomb Raider style exploration goes (when it comes to controls and interaction with the environment) Assasin's Creed blows away Uncharted.

This is the first console game in a long, long time where I feel they really brought an importent leap to two very importent dimensions of any game. Them being Animation and Controls. They compliment eachother very nicely in this game.

This is my GOTY so far

They're not really at all similar. Tomb Raider's core (lol pun) is essentially a hybrid blend of linearity and open individual levels that all focus around tight jumps and precision platforming. You really can't put AC in the same bin. The platforming is of an entirely different (and equally satisfying) breed. It's more a puzzle for your eyes than it is for your fingers.

for real real, it doesn't look just slopped together either.  everything is there for a reason.  :bow :bow

not to mention, incredible art design in the game.  It's so seamless.  nothing sticks out jarringly. GOTY!

The cities are so well designed.  I'll be climbing one of the high church steeples, looking at how detailed every single teeny tiny ridge is, and it blows my fucking mind.  It took how many centuries to build these ancient cities in reality?  And how many in awesome cooler than real videogame form?

Can you manually save in this game?  I can't find the option anywhere.  I know they wanted to be all arty with the interface, but it's not very intuitive.

And oh yeah, it's gorgeous and fun fun fun to climb stuff

I would actually love to see this "series" taken into different eras of History. Though, that runs of the risk of it getting highly watered down or just become crummy like the Splinter Cell series.

Didn't they say it was going to be a trilogy?

And I wonder how much Ben Stiller charged for the use of his likeness

I think they are limited by time. Like, seriously, they have to reuse these cities. No way Ubisoft will give them another four years to do this with, like, Venice, Rome, and Florence or something.

That is true. The base engine is there but new art assets and all that jazz will take a long while.

I was curious about that. This game took as long as it is, so I'm wondering how long it'll take them to do these sequels.

So would I. That would be great, because you wouldn't always have to be Desmond and stuff. I want one in Africa.  8)
