I will say in the 43 hours of DW: Gundam i've clocked the drive seems to halt every once in a while when im at a mission screen for too long with a 'disc dirty' error which makes my eyes roll right out of the room.

I can hear the drive if I listen for it, but I rarely notice it unless the game hitches, then I pay attention to the noise. I think ALL of us can hear it if we choose to, but taking into account all the moments we are actually playing the game, I dont think its something worth giving a flying shit about.

Same set-up for me. Somedays I can't figure out which is louder or gives off more heat!

1) Turn up the volume on your speakers
2) If you can't do that, play with headphones.
