Like Breakfast Sandwiches? Hate the Fat/Calories?
« on: November 18, 2007, 02:06:25 PM »

Just tried these and they're fucking good. It also has fewer calories than an egg mc muffin and fewer fat calories than an egg mcmuffin. Granted both options are a thin ham variation, but sausage just cant be made healthy. Well worth the money!

Tuna is gross.

The breakfast sandwich posted uses only egg whites/wheat based but, and low fat can bacon/black forest ham, and a slice of swiss cheese.

Perfect for people who dont have time to cook in the morning.

Best breakfast is obviously the standard but delicious sausage biscuit.  Put a little scrambled egg on there if you like that, a tad bit of frank's red hot sauce, and you have yourself a breakfast that wakes you up and makes you full.  MMmmmmm.

Equal portions mustard and mayo and stir.

I doubt that sandwich in the op is really much healthier than the 'fatty' versions.  It's more a matter of eating refined sugars and processed foods that leads to an unhealthy diet.  Hardboiling a dozen eggs at the beggining of the week means a super quick break-fast every morning that is actually good for you.  Add some fruit and you're golden.

No kidding.  Fuck a hardboiled egg in the morning, how needlessly punitive. I want comfort food when I wake, since getting up in the morning and keeping society's schedules is such an affront to begin with.

Breakfast burritos are the best, but I like mine with eggs, cheese, crispy bacon and salsa.  Fresh onion and jalapeno sometimes, mmmm.

Supposedly that makes sense, since there is the longest period of time between that meal and bedtime.

Big Breakfast
Medium Lunch
Light Dinner

Unless you can eat several smaller meals a day and keep your metabolism up, that's the best way to go about it.

Also, soup.  That's how I lost a lot of my excess weight.  Fills you up, has very little fat if you stay away from the cream-based stuff, and most of it is pretty lo-cal so you can eat a ton of it.

I think I lost too much weight, though.  Everyone keeps asking me if I've been sick.

Most canned soup is pretty high sodium tho, which makes a person retain water. I think the breakfast sandwich is like half my daily allowance of sodium as it is lol :(

I don't have any classes before 12:30 so if I want breakfast, I usually go out for lunch.  A bag of doritos and a diet Dr. Pepper is a very good substitute though.

I've been eating Kashi cereal recently.  The kinds I get are pretty good.  I either get one that's cinnamon wheats or one that tastes like smacks.   :)

Why do we have to limit our breakfast foods to greasy sandwiches and over sweetened bread and pastries?  I'm partial to soups myself in the morning.  Miso soup is a traditional breakfast food in Japan, for example.  I also like asian noodles dishes, piping hot, with a whole egg mixed in.  The egg is cooked by the hot noodles and can be seasoned with soy sauce, nam pla, or chilli sauce.

I'm also partial to yogurt as well.

Huevos Rancheros could be slightly leaner if made with one egg and two egg whites and replacing the refried beans with stewed black beans.
