How badly does your computer fail at crysis?

I was using this website to see how my computer would do against COD4 and thought it would be funny to see just how much it fails with crysis and thought it would be interesting to see what other people post:http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

Spec recommendations are usually BS though.  I bet my computer would probably get great in all categories and Crysis'll still run at less than 30fps.

My rig is faster than yours since you don't overclock.  Unless the final version has been vastly improved, 30fps w/slightly lower than max settings is what you're looking at.

The 6600 will be gone in January when the cooler/faster Quads will be available.  My CPU runs at 3.6 ghz anyways which is way faster than yours at stock.  What's the point of spending more if you're not getting more?    I'm not getting another 8800GTX because NV's SLI drivers are still shit for many games.  I've got the cash but I ain't iignorant.

That's true.  Even a pair of 8800 GTX won't be able to handle Crysis at DX10 MAX w/60fps at 1920x1200.  Which is why buying another GTX is pointless.  I"ll be tempted to SLI the new dual-core videocards though if they can deliver 60fps w/MAX at 1920x1200.

show me an upgrade that can play Crysis w/max settings at 1920x1200.  And you're still playing on a puny 20" monitor, so STFU about poors.

lol, if only this mattered when you arent on the internet!

Why are you disagreeing w/me?  Drinky's the one who thinks that one 8800 GTX can handle Crysis w/Max settings.  The 8800 GTS is not that much slower than a GTX.

I like spending more though.  It's just that there isn't anything good enough to buy.  I'll spend $1000 right now if it'll play Crysis w/60fps at 1920x1200.

GPU is the bottleneck though so quad-cores won't help.  Also, the new processors are coming out in January. and they'll be better for overclocking.

I know how you feel bout overclocking but overclocking at the high end is actually for people w/a lot of money and time.  When I start making money, I'm going to get one of those pricey phase change coolers to overclock the hell out of everything.

That's not what you're arguing though.  You said overclocking is for hobos, period.  Like I said, your trash talk is completely invalidated by your gaming on a tiny 1680x1050 resolution.  Anything below 1920x1200 screams cheapassgamer.

I will have to give that a shot later on.

I was actually rather surprised at how well the game ran on my PC, to be honest.  I've only messed with the demo, of course, but I was able to play at medium settings (with a few select options at high) and still maintain a decently smooth framerate at 720p.  Of course, it looks nowhere near as good as the highest level of detail, but it really isn't bad either.

I have no intention of buying the game until I've completely revamped my PC, however.
