Yeah i think some reviewers feel GTA style games from rockstar need 10/10 just to keep some standard for boring sandbox games low lol

The Warriors is probably my favorite game of last year. I can see a refined, humorous version of it being a fantastic evolution of it.

Saint's Row is a good game. It doesn't really need to be defended. It's derivative, glitchy, and the story is embarassing, but at the same time it's difficult to go back to the GTAs after playing it.

I'm definitely going to pick this game up eventually.

I still need to play GTA:SA, too. Rockstar makes ridiculously fun games. I even enjoyed the Smuggler's Run series.

Ok so I just played the game and WOW it is good.

The school theme is pretty refreshing and I find it far more relatable than the mob/gangsta shit of the GTA games (well maybe because I spent my fair share of time in private schools).

The voice acting is top notch and some how they managed to lip sync everything perfectly. Don't see that much in games, it really draws you in. The music is really good too.

Only down side is that it is a PS2 game so it is a little rough on the eye but it does have a wide screen mode. A Xbox or X360 version would have been sweet, but I guess we will have to wait for Bully 2.

One of the best PS2 titles of the year, I am glad I picked it up.

I also increasingly feel like I should check out The Warriors, even though I hate stupid cult movies from the 70s!

Honestly, if you liked Yakuza, I can quarantee you'd like The Warriors.

GTA is about the dark humor though. The characters look like that for a reason, it's a cartoony version of the real worl. Apart of the fun in GTA games is the humor alone.

Putting GTA on the same level as Manhunt doesn't really seem like it does those games justice, but that's just me. I think Manhunt is a completely deplorable product.

I think its about image. Just like the first GTA games I cannot connect with generic mafia or gangster characters as I cannot connected with a foul mouthed short redhead with freckles. If I cannot relate, I cannot get behind his actions and as a result playing the game only makes me feel like some kinda of hostage, forced to witness every morally ambigious act he participates in.
