Almost finished with the game.
1. Slowdown is fucking awful and seems to happen in every stage now. For some reason it's only during bosses in the first ten hours of so of gameplay but by the end of the game the enemies spawn so frequently that the battles move at a snail's pace due to all the slowdown.
2. You can only equip a single item so sometimes you'll have an anti-poison amulet on, and then the enemies will dizzy you...then, while you're dizzy, they'll set you on fire or freeze you, or turn you into a frog, or something...and by the time your dizziness is over, your character is dead. There's nothing quite as frustrating as seeing your character being knocked around and being unable to do anything for what seems like minutes until you die. The only thing MORE frustrating is seeing your character being knocked around and being unable to do anything IN SLOW MOTION because of all the fucking slowdown.
2. Once you get the alchemy texts for painkiller (no knockback, HP loss is halved) and unlimited power (your POW bar doesn't go down for a limited time) and combine them with the psypher skill overload (2x attack power), bosses are basically cake. It's kind of weird how fucking annoying the stages can be with all the status effects only to reach a threatening-looking boss and kill it in a couple of minutes.
The game is completely broken. I can't understand why. Vanillaware obviously worked hard on this game's presentation, but then when it came to the gameplay they completely half-assed it.
