I got my new XXX Box. It should have enough storage for a year.

It's a Seagate 500GB. I got it for $89.99 plus a further $50 rebate. The discounted price was $129.99 before rebate but I also used a $40 coupon. The $40 coupon was supposed to be for purchases of more than $200 but the girl couldn't find the other games I wanted to push the total to $200. Luckily, she was kind enough to still take $40 off.

This is the one with the external power brick. He sold it to me and then bought the new one with the internal power source.

Not really. The first two years at staples I wasn't dealing with it too long in the day, and when I was lead there were about two years of it, but we had a good manager and by and large staples customers are decent enough if you treat them well.

Sure will. I now have a stack of unwatched and unwrapped HD-DVDs and Blu Rays, something I promised myself I'd never do like I did with DVD. But they keep running these BOGO and discount sales, and the stack gets bigger

just an fyi but I read the hd-dvd version of total recall looks noticeably better than the bluray version

I saw the touch for the first time at Best Buy. I was amazed at how freakin small it is. All the blown up photos make it seem much bigger than it actually is.

Man, Crank was a blast. It was like watching an R-rated live-action Tex Avery cartoon. I laughed through the whole thing.

Condemned was meh. "Hey, let's film a movie about a bunch of sorry fucks killing each other and then try to make the viewer feel bad about watching it in the last fifteen minutes." Can't have your cake and eat it too, Stone Cold.

I used to watch wrestling back in the heyday of ECW and WWF - when Stone Cold was still a "heel" and would do things like attack Bret Hart in the back of an ambulance. I even went to a live Monday Night RAW show. It was a lot of fun, but I don't watch wrestling anymore - I wouldn't even know half the guys. I make no excuses for it. Mick Foley was my favorite - any guy who is willing to get slammed through the roof of a steel cage into a bed of tacks just to entertain me has my respect.

Anyway, Condemned was presented as a spin on Battle Royale - and while it's well-filmed, the sermonizing about violence and media was ham-handed and annoying. Steve Austin was basically playing his Stone Cold character, so I can't really comment on his acting. Vinnie Jones played the same character he plays in every movie. Just meh. Needed more shit blowing up and less yapyapyap about how watching shit blow up is ruining society.

And I know everyone hated it, but I liked Die Hard 4 okay. Bruce Willis is a childhood hero of mine, so I'll pretty much give him a pass on anything. My personal Die Hard scale is Die Hard>Die Hard 3>Die Hard 4>Die Hard 2.

I read a lot of comments about the transfer quality of Die Hard, but I thought it looked okay. I think with the age of the film and the way it was shot, not much could be done with it without cranking up the edge enhancement and blowing out the contrast. The fourth one looks fantastic, the third is a vast improvement over the DVD (I popped it in to compare), the second one is about the same as the first. Keep your DVD of the first Die Hard (or rip the second disc) if you want to save the special features from the two-disc DVD set, because they stripped them out of the Die Hard Blu Ray. That kind of shit is pissing me off about HD movie releases - they are already setting up for double and triple dips further down the line.

I bought nothing except a Live Free or Die Hard unrated rental.

Unrated > Rated. Seriously, Live Free might be my favorite Die Hard since the original. The extra fucks make it actually feel like a Die Hard film rather than a generic good action film.
