no. it's actually really slick and, dare i say it, funny. come on, it has JEFF BRIDGES. it's done in a cute (and consistent) mockumentary style, and has diedrich bader talking about polishing his trophies. it's definitely better than the weaker pixar efforts, by far.

I'll totally watch Surf's Up. Is it in HD? HD makes even the most mediocre CGI films at least 15% better. Not saying that Surf's Up is mediocre, since I haven't seen it. Example - Dinosaur is a middling film, but in HD it becomes a "good" film because omg meteor shower sequence.

Dinosaur is every Disney movie from the last 15 years encapsulated into 80 minutes, but meteor shower in HD is wow.

I was bored by cars in theaters but it grew on me as I was forced to watch it like 5 times by a little kid I watch.

As for non-pixar movies my favorite cgi movie that isnt pixar is probably Over the Hedge. Isn't surfs up that one with Shia LABOOOOF?

I saw the second half with my gf a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised. The whole documentary angle was cute, and like you said, Jeff Bridges is the man. I've sat through way worse movies.
