I made a character and was all set to go when I realized how much better the default one looks.  I ended up using the same guy we've seen in all the Mass Effect media since day one.  Not creative at all but it just seemed right.

i tried to make one that looked like kurt russell but when that didn't work out, i just made one that most closely resembled a space pirate

In her defense, all the female characters in ME are either mannish or Downsy.

vanguard is a fun class but I'm going with a male character and a different class now that Ive unlocked hardcore mode.

I skipped nearly all the sidequests so it took me maybe 20 hours to beat
