Addictive videogames
« on: November 26, 2007, 11:40:48 AM »
I thought of this thread while posting in the Rock Band thread, which I'm currently addicted to.

Think back and try to recall your most addictive video game experiences.  These are games that you just couldn't wait to play after work or at the start of a weekend.

Here are some of mine:
Bubble Bobble 2 player coop
SMB3
Tetris
FFVI
Panel de Pon
Chrono Trigger
FFVII
Ape Escape
Zelda:OOT
FFX
Elite Beat Agents
Ouendan 2
Oblivion

PSO came later for me. MAD HAX is what destroyed my obsession with it. Getting PK'ed 33 times in a row will do that to you.

its very rare that I have I game where Im just itching to play it all day and throw it straight on when I get home...

heres a couple in recent memory:

Dead Rising: was thinking about this all day today, can wait to get back into the action
Etrian Odyssey: amazing
Baten Kaitos Origins: simply fantastic

and older

Vagrant Story
FFVII, VIII (I actually stayed up too late so many times playing this, affecting my schoolwork to an extent  :'(), IX
Resident Evil 4, OMG this was so cool when It came out, was a step above every other console game graphically

I can see myself getting addicted to 'Puzzle Crack' so I will get it shortly.

Is Soul Nomad that bad?  I heard people complain because it's apparently not the typical cutesy thing NIS is known for, but I don't see how that's a bad thing.
