Metropolis is your standard terrible anime- pretty to look at, absurd plot and cliche characters.  I don't get the love for it.

But then again most anime is crap.  I'd go so far as to say probably 98% of it.

Because it was for all purposes the main bad guy's daughter. Its what drove the jealousy of the dude in sunglasses who viewed himself as the mans son, even tho he was also not his child of blood. Whats worse was the girl was a robot, which is something the dude in sunglasses hated, and the idea that a robot had replaced him drove him nuts. learn to watch a movie.
