I'm not sure if enjoy bell woods is trolling for the fuck of it or to specifically say my music taste sucks, so this is the last post I'm going to make about it.

If you ever get the chance to see them live, they put on a great show. I saw them perform at a little church in Portand, OR once, the place was full of candles and probably only 50 other people inside, such a great show.

The Mariner's Revenge Song is done with costumes and cardboard cut outs. The Tain done live in it's entirety is pretty damn awesome, too.

Yeah pick up Picaresque, and don't listen to enjoy bell woods, as I've never heard him say anything close to interesting.  It I want pretentious music fans I can at least find one that can write.

Her Majesty is their best record.  Picaresque and Crane Wife both have some awesome songs, but I think Her Majesty's got the most.

I like the Decemberists but I can't listen to them too much in a short period.  I like Colin Meloy's voice, but if you listen to a lot of it in a short duration, it really emphasizes how monotonous his tone is.  And once your head is wrapped around the concept of monotony, you realize that all the Decemberists songs are mid tempo, with not a whole lot of variety.  Still, I like them a lot and they are awesome live.  I am there day 1 for the record releases. . .I just might be taking a break after day 10 or so.

I agree with this. I listened to all their stuff right away when I first discovered them, but now I can't listen to more than one song of theirs in a row.

I think I've liked Her Majesty the best, but my absolute favorite fuckign song by them is the Mariner's Revenge song.  So fucking awesome.  Best 7 plus minutes of folklore music evar.
