A police car was following me this morning with their lights flashing so I thought I was getting pulled over. Turns out they just wanted to get through traffic so I was ok. Willco was with me at the time and that brought up the subject of women getting off on getting speeding tickets by flirting with cops.

My stand is - no, I would never do that. I've gotten three speeding tickets two of which were within two weeks of each other and I really just can't get myself to do that sort of thing. I hold myself completely responsible for what I do on the road and I'm not going to pussyfoot myself around it. And unless I genuinely find myself attracted to the police officer, I really find no reason to subject myself to that kind of humiliation.

So what do you think, Evilborians? O.O

My mom talked herself out of a reckless driving ticket once when I was a kid. She was speeding, over 20mph over the limit, so that's considered reckless driving.

I think it's okay to try to flirt/talk your way out of it if you're like carefully speeding, and not being careless. Like sometimes you're running late for something and you are speeding but paying 100% attention to the road and everything. Then maybe.

But to cry your way out of a DUI? After you've already caused property damage? DIAF.

It's never worked for me except for this one time at Halloween a cop pulled me over. I thought it was strange that there was an Indian, Biker, Construction Worker, Cowboy, and sailor with him. He didn't want to arrest me, he just wanted to put the cuffs on me.....It was worth it.

one time I was in berkeley teaching my friend to drive (he was under 15) and we got pulled over when my friend didn't do a full stop at a stop sign. the cop saw that I was illegally teaching him to drive and cussed us out but he let us go once we switched seats. I was pretty happy because we were 50 miles from home and normally they impound the car if you do that (according to the cop). I can honestly say I was ready to flirt with the guy if I had to though.

in the same city, I saw a cop go to a bum and tell him to stop sleeping on the bus stop bench and a CROWD of students starts shouting at him to leave the bum alone and the cop gets scared and walks away. I guess there's always something you can do to get out of trouble.

I knew a woman who drove like a speed demon. Whenever she got pulled over she'd be like "okay Officer, I'm sorry, but could you follow me to the nearest gas station before I really embarrass myself by wetting my pants?"

They always let her go.

If i was a woman, i totally would. If the officer's weak enough to let me off for some reason other than an immediate health-related issue, then that's on them.

Only exception would be NC cops. Don't even bother. There's way too many of them for any given city, they're all too eager to stop you for stupid reasons, and they're not easily swayed from what i hear from female friends.

Apparently, it's easy to get out of tickets if you're in the medical field or in law enforcement. My cousin, who's in Homeland Security, has been pulled over a few times but he's never gotten a ticket. One time, he was even going over 30mph. The cop said he would have arrested him if he were a civilian but he just warned him to drive more safely.

Doctors also seem to get away with speeding when the cops see their medical licenses. My neighbor says he just acts like he's in a hurry to save someone and tells the cop to just write the ticket quick. Everytime, the cop just lets him go without a ticket. Also, he says that some cops are reluctant to offend physicians in case they ever end up in their hospitals.

It would be one thing if a man did it, because then it would be bucking gender stereotypes, a man using sexuality in a way that's stereotypically associated with women.
