It's ugly, the plot is wacky jappy inane, the badge/cosplay collection stuff isn't particularly well-implemented outside of a few puzzles, and the battles are the dumb kind of hack-and-slash (and they're consistently tedious).

it's a big handjob to 8-bit fetishists, but that's it

I got it for $30 and it was worth every penny. I had already played the game for hundreds of hours, and I still can't put it down. Being awesome at it helps, losers.

Tetris is the only source of self-esteem I have.

a) after Crash Team Racing, I have yet to play any cart racer even half as well-designed -- it's a brilliant racer despite the godawful mascots
b) I don't generally like kart racing that much, anyway, when I can play Wipeout Pure or Ridge Racers instead
c) I hate most of the Mario cast

Honostly, Tetris DS really is the most fun online DS game. If only Meteos was online, that would be awesome.

And Drinky is teh wrong, Mario Kart DS is one of the system's best.

ALSO, get Trauma Center. Best implementation of both touch screen and dual screens I've seen.
