Help me pick my new phone
« on: December 02, 2007, 02:24:52 AM »
So T-mobile has a bunch of free phones on their site. I kinda need a new phone because dealing with boost is a pain in the ass, so I'm going to try and get one from T-mobile. Ive only been looking at the free ones because they're free and I don't have the money for the plan, activation fee, and phone.

Samsung t439
Nokia 6103
Motorola RAZR V3 - Pearl Gray
Motorola RAZR V3 - Magenta
Samsung Stripe - Black
Nokia 2610
Samsung t219 Refurbished($9.99 new)
Samsung Trace

I'm in between on what kind of phone I should get. I like the look of the Pink RAZR but I don't want anything too flashy in fear it gets stolen. I really like the Trace because when I go out I the camera and (old)shuffle with me so that could clear up some pocket room.

What does EB think?

don't get the razr, it's crap.  everybody I know has some issue with it.  the glass screen on the outside cracks very easily (mine and a few others have in the same exact corner) and I know a couple people who had software issues where each screen just shows a scrambled image (that was covered by warranty though).  the phone looks good but it's not worth the hassle.

I've heard the same thing as amnintendo about the Razr.

I know someone who knows someone (I know, that's crap) who works for a company who fixes cell phones, and most of their clients are people with Razrs.

Also, my mom has the pink one and I'm not impressed by it. It's old news now but it was almost top-of-the-line when she got it, and I had trouble hearing on it. It's also too wide for my tastes--yeah it's thin, but it's like wide.

On your fear of people stealing cell phones--does that really happen with normal cells? I figured people would only bother trying to steal the new $400+ models that are overadvertised so they're easily identifiable.
