Prole, could you talk to maf for me please? I feel really bad. Those sluts in Berkeley will never have my love again!

As a peace offering, I'm totally gonna buy myself a copy of Windows Server 2008 whenever it comes out

I spent 12 hours in Seattle last week on my way from Bellingham back to Portland.  It kinda sucked, the street layout made no sense (much like MS' API designs and documentation), the place was completely dead at night, and according to a homeless heroin addict I met on the streets even the heroin is lousy there (this was probably the real reason Cobain offed himself.  If he'd just come to Portland, which according to my source is reknowned all through Cascadia for its quality smack, a great tragedy could've been averted).  Bellingham was great though.

Ubuntu install on my new laptop was flawless and ridiculously easy btw.  It pretty much just asked me a few questions like "what time zone are you in?" then it was like "ok now boot into your new system!" and I was like "whoa that's it?"  Ubuntu  :bow

Bellingham was interesting, seemed to have way more in common with a run down upstate NY town than the other big cities in the pacific northwest. They had a cool ice cream shop where you can get all these offbeat flavors like basil-flavored ice cream, that was actually pretty good.

Most of my time in Bellingham was spent at my friends' farm (slept in the barn next to the horses' stables... that was interesting) so I didn't see much of the town itself.  Struck me as vaguely like a mini-Portland though.

I really dug Bellingham-it's the perfect place to get a good bite to eat and a warm bed after a full day of birding the samish flats, which are simply godlike in the winter, little sunlight be damned.

I got within like ten feet of a gyrfalcon there a few years ago and saw a peregrine dive bomb a field of dunlins.  :bow . So awesome.

I saw some seals in the water when I was in Bellingham, that was pretty cool.
