Why do TV shows have to make Political/Civil statements?
« on: October 20, 2006, 12:03:37 PM »
Its like every show these days has to have some STATEMENT in the theme of their tv show. Either about terrorists, or DEATH PENALTY or what the fuck else. I miss the days where my shows werent trying to reprogram me by attempting to manipulate my emotions.

I have to agree on this completely.  I get really annoyed anytime i've got a show throwing in political viewpoints here and there.

Because OMG I have an audience and I need to exploit that fact as much as possible and tell people the Truth I mean I'll ram it down their fucking throats if I have to because what am I going to do just entertain people how can I do that when there's so much INJUSTICE in the world that's like Nero playing his fiddle while Rome burned I'm just not going to go out like that not when I have what little power I have to change people's minds and just like Wake Them Up, you know?

Nero didn't actually play a fiddle, because fiddles didn't exist in ancient Rome.  Most likely the phrase refers to a lyre.
