Scene it: Scene's badly written demo impressions
« on: December 09, 2007, 05:42:00 PM »
I dled the demo last night.... ugh they couldve has something pretty good here but as usual they thought it necessary to fill it with annoying presentation shit.. but At least most of it is skippable. Some interesting questions... if theres a lot of content in the final game I'll probably buy it... be a good one to play with the family anyway. I thought it was strange how the demo made you watch a 2 minute clip of King Kong, then have questions about King Kong that were completely unrelated to the clip... I thought they were gonna bust out viewing comprehension stuff (ie. how many planes was kong fighting) but it was just 'who directed this film'... maybe they thought people would want to watch 2 minutes of King Kong or something :duh

But yeah if youre into trivia and stuff this is probably worth checking out... its miles beter than Buzz, (well movies is a good topic) as you can skip a lot of the presentation stuff, you dont have to select a disgusting whore/ big-lipped rasta dude 'avatar', and theres no big head host motherfucker who pops up to abuse you every 5 seconds. So will be a good party game for the 360 and Im guessing the achievemnets will be easy lolz

i might pick this up *gasp* for our new year's party.  the older folks tend to like board games and shit like this, so once the rock band frenzy is over it'll be a good follow-up game.

I played this on Sat.

one weird thing was none of the games seemed to use the buzzers, you just hit your answer

games were also way, way long

the "watch an unrelated movie clip" was confusing

It's a good idea done badly. You will come to regret your purchase.

(my opinion is formed from the board game I got as a gift last year)

Disposable White Guy bought it for me and we played it with our best friend, my brother and my drunk mom.  Fun was had by all.  It rocks.

Patel, when you play the Party Mode, buzzers aren't used.  If you play the general Play Now multiplayer, your answers are not displayed and some puzzles use buzzers.

I have not lost a game.

It's a good deal for $60 - you get 4 pads.

There are more games being worked on to use the pad as well, so don't get rid of it just yet :shh

Oh, I'm not getting rid of it - I really, really dig it.  I'm also hoping for genre-specific DLC.  I'd gladly pay hundreds of Microsoft points for some horror movie trivia!

Also, with four people and alcohol, it's a great party game.

Also, the questions contain content that's really recent.  One of the answers was Good Luck Chuck and I don't think that's even out on DVD.  I also like how it saves puzzles seen so it doesn't repeat puzzles.

The best part was one of my friend nailing all the Brokeback Mountain puzzles.  We gave him crap for it all night. :lol
