At this point in time, the 360 is definitely looking more appealing to me as a gamer. As a geek in general, the functionality of the PS3 has got me wet.

I'm so confused...

Get both! I'm honestly starting to see the PS3 as actually having a good value, if you can afford it. I'm way more excited about the PS3 than I was six months ago, but that's not really saying much. The 360 has satisfied me for almost a whole year now and it looks like it will do even better in 2007. I need the Wii just because I like Zelda and Mario. Fuck you, Nintendo.

I don't want game systems to be super computers. I honestly don't care about that extra stuff, I want a game system. The simple fact Sony is treating it like a Blu Ray player that happens to play games makes it infinitely unappealing.

We were thinking PSP would kick all ass with it's power and "I can do anything" mentality, and that ended up being a massive failure. Emphasis on movies or music videos instead of the main reason people bought it in the first place: games. I am willing to bet the same thing will happen to ps3.

And screw Blu Ray, HD-DVD, and any of that next gen format clap trap. I'm just fine with dvds.

The reason I prefer consoles to pc gaming is because I don't have to worry about a lot of this stuff. It's just about straight gaming. And now we have super computers as game systems which are at ridiculous prices, microtransactions trying to invade games, and emphasis over features than the actual games.

Thank the heavens for DS and PS2.

I understand that most people are satisfied with DVD because most people don't have an HDTV, but man, after seeing HD on my TV and playing DVD's on my TV for over a year, I want an HD format. I don't care who wins. I'm buying the HD DVD addon for the 360 and I'm getting a PS3. I'm getting exclusive movies for both, and any movies that aren't exclusive I'm getting on whichever one has the better transfer. I can't take it anymore. I want HD content for my HDTV.

Yeah, the PSP isn't as big of a failure as fanboys want to assume. Sure it's not taking over portable gaming, but it's decent and has a loyal fanbase while selling decently every month. A price drop is in order though and that should help it quite a bit. If anything is a failure regarding the PSP, it's UMD movies.

Exclusives don't mean so much anymore, and exclusives hardly ever stay exclusive. There is talk that Bioshock and Lost Planet will end up on PS3, but I really don't care. I'll probably have a 360 before a ps3 and I will just get it on that system. Once exclusive, then not exclusive, but in the end its the same game pretty much.

Rayman isn't exclusive, but who's going to buy a game based entirely around the wiimote on another system? Exclusives just don't determine much. It's a PR/hype war.

For my money, it could be Microsoft if they can fix their backwards compatibility, and get VF5 and DMC4 in a timely manner. Then I wouldn't need a PS3.
