Doesn't the book have some shitty generic twist where the man is actually the menace, and the vampires/monsters/whatever are the actual "regular" people?

The vampire parts of I Am Legend were really lame (and yeah they all look the same!), but the whole desolateness of the movie was really cool, I loved seeing NYC totally dead and overrun with vegetation. Ending was pretty disappointing, I'm not gonna say more than that, and
