crossposted inquiry (PC games)

(i know these threads suck esp since it's cross posted but wanted input from people here who are not on gaf)

My parents got me a nice new machine for christmas.

2.2 Dual Core 2 Duo
4 Gigs Ram
Asus 8800 GT

I already have the orange box.

I was looking over the threads for Bioshock and it seems that once more pc gamers got Invisible War'd and are almost an after thought (in regards to post release support, the DRM, and the lack of "true widescreen"). If you bought it for PC would you still say it was worth it or should I wait for it to hit the cheap bins?

CoD4. I liked the first few and am intrigued by the multiplayer reports i've been reading on Gaf, but I fear that most of the people playing this are playing the Console versions. how is online for PCs?

UT3. I love the Unreal series and will probably pick this up, but has this too been consolefied?

I love what i'm hearing about Witcher so that's a must purchase.

is there anything like battlefield 2 with the classes and objectives? or should i just wait for battlefield 3?

Battlefield 2 is still the best, nothing news has come along to top it. I THINK the next C&C game will be battlefield style iirc so that'll be neat.

Bioshock was still awesome on the PC. Plus, the latest patch fixed the widescreen thing.

a lot of what it did well it did really really well

the problem is that there were a lot of technical failings as well, but i really really enjoyed the atmosphere (esp the beginning levels where the space ship was being raided and destroyed) and was curious about the story.

a shame the psp game died.

BF2142 is worth picking up cheap for the Titan Mode. I love me some Titan Mode.
