Are these good? I already ordered Enter the Dragon on HD-DVD and I'm wondering if I should get this too.

Recommend others please. :punch

White people can't catch aids that easily as it's an African disease you know?  :)  In other words, he couldn't have gotten it from me, prob from some CIA agent.  ;)

*shrugs* I don't know, but I haven't seen one in years. Me and my older brother always watched them when I was younger. We've never been disappointed by one.

Well I love kung-fu movies and I'm white, but a black man once told his girl with me right there that I was prob the coolest white dude any black person would ever meet and I also love early MJ so you do the math.

It's practically impossible to find kung-fu movies from the 70's and 80's with english dubs that aren't cheesy.  Most of the VAs used were Australian and have very noticable Australian accents, which only adds to the cheese-stink.

Try some of these classics if you haven't already:

Master of the Flying Guillotine
36th Chamber of Shaolin (Master Killer)
Five Deadly Venoms
Crippled Avengers (Return of the Five Deadly Venoms)
Drunken Master
5 Fingers of Death
Mystery of Chess Boxing
Five Element Ninja (Chinese Super Ninjas)

What about One-Armed Swordsman? I just called my brother and he told me to get that.

Shit. I'm gonna waste so much money, but it'll be worth it.

Oh, as for the Bruce Lee set, you might be better off grabbing the discs individually and on the cheap.  The first three really aren't that great (save a handful of scenes) in spite of Lee's legacy.  Game of Death is not worth owning at all and GoD2 is trash.  I'm pretty sure that the documentary that comes with Enter the Dragon has more footage of Bruce Lee from Game of Death than the actual movie does.  Both of those films do have some pretty hilarious dialogue, though, if that's your primary interest.

The One-armed Swordsman/Boxer movies with Jimmy Wang Yu are fucking awesome.  I mentioned Master of the Flying Guillotine, which features Jimmy Wang Yu as the one-armed boxer character, and it's probably the best of the lot.  It's definitely my favorite kung-fu movie.  The chinese have this weird thing when it comes to cripples as heroes.  A lot of their kung-fu films feature heroes who are either deformed or distinguished mentally-challenged.  I was going to suggest in the Secret Santa thread that anyone who got Synbios should send him Crippled Masters, which features a dude with flippers swinging around a staff on his nubs.  It's simultaneously horrific and amazing.

I'll pass on the Bruce Lee boxset then. My brother said that they suck too. Does he have any other good movies that I don't know about? Also, what do you think of the other movies that people recommended?

Beezy, that's a great box set for MA fans.  The fact that most of the action scenes are still exciting is a testament of Bruce Lee's greatness.  Fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon are great.  I haven't watched The Big Boss yet but I heard it's pretty good too.  The Game of Death movies are crap though because Lee was dead before they were made.  They just used some double to act as Lee in most of the scenes.  You can easily tell when they're using a double so the films are basically garbage.  There're still some good fight scenes in Game of Death 1 though, especially the one w/ Kareem.

You get a better idea of what Lee was going for with Game of Death if you watch the Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey documentary.  It has all of the footage that Bruce Lee directed himself, some it without English audio or without any completed audio at all.

The fight scenes in his completed movies ARE pretty great, but he had a different approach to filming fights -- one punch knockouts abound -- than what you will see in other HK kung-fu flicks, which generally focus on faster striking and some crazy gymnastics, and a lot of people tend to think they're boring and uninteresting.  For me, the appeal rests entirely on his screen presence, which in my opinion rivals guys like Brando and Eastwood.
