You know, even though the "friend zone" spiel (and the PUA stuff in general) is usually boilerplate misogyny sprinkled with half-assed evo psych, it is sort of useful.

It is pretty common for a guy to hang around a girl who isn't interested in him sexually, in hopes that one day she'll wake up and realize he's The One. And that guy probably categorizes his (submissive, dishonest) behavior as "nice".

Generally speaking, not making particular accusations, yadda yadda.

What gear do you have? I use a Dean Razorback V 255 w/emg 81/85 and a Mesa Single Rectifier through a 2x12 with Vintage 30's

(mmm, vintage 30's). I have the Dean Far Beyond Driven ML but I'm selling that and purchasing the new Dean MAB-1 (ebony fretboard). This guitar is sick but I won't get mine until January. I don't really use many pedals I prefer on board distortion and maybe a wah. One thing I'd like to get is the BBE 882i Sonic Maximizer and really refine my sound, maybe after the new guitar.

Here's the V but I got mine with silver stripes instead of gay yellow ones:

I play very little piano, I know some chords but that's about it. I'll probably have to learn more when I take some singing lessons soon (hopefully). Do you play classical, jazz?

Very cool, how long have you been playing for? I've been playing since middle school but have only recently started practicing really hard and getting my soloing (left hand dexterity) up. I played in an indie/alt rock band for about a year but then the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter moved to LA and then I was playing in my own band for several months until my drummer quit. So now I've just been practicing getting my skills up to play tech-death metal. My goal is to create the heaviest music possible and crush these pussy metal core bands. Have you played in any bands/orchestras? I'd also like to learn classical and jazz as they are the best players around. Oh oh, do you play a keyboard (what brand) or an actual piano?

I've been playing clarinet since 15 years ago and keyboards since 8 years ago, but practice has been off and on --- I certainly wouldn't consider myself a competent classical or jazz pianist, but good enough for simple keyboard parts in pop songs. Played in various youth orchestras until age 18. I haven't had any kind of keyboard of my own for the last couple years, so that's been mostly suspended except when I can practice/play on someone else's.
