It's not a titch harder. It's significantly harder. In the GBA version, for example, the Mist Dragon does 30ish damage if you strike him while in Mist mode. In the DS game, he does 130 damage. You will die.
Overall, the game is definitely harder. At first, I thought it was just the bosses... but the random encounters are giving me plenty of trouble, as well. I know people whined about FF3 DS being limited to only 3 enemies... but facing 6 in FF4 DS is kind of overwhelming, and can really take a toll on my group. Mt. Hobs was especially bad in this respect, because people kept dying (yay for useless party members).
I don't think so. The game seems to focus on specific strategies like Megami Tensei games, instead of allowing you to brute force bosses. I just read a strategy for the boss I fought that apparently keeps him from using his gas thing, and I wish I'd thought of it before.I don't think grinding is going to be the answer in this game at all.
let's go back to my thread, where i said, and i quote - "ff4 is awesome"
let's analyze your thread title - "ff4 ds sounds awesome"
WOW just fuck wow, this game is amazing
it's like a zillion times better than ff3they added a map to the bottom screen
i only made it to the Mist Cave and deleted it, its awesome so yeah
Add identical field/dungeon layouts and identical music and frown frown.
I'm not too sure about FFIV DS. My biggest hope was for new dialogue/a fleshed out scenario, but it's line-for-line exact to previous versions. Add identical field/dungeon layouts and identical music and frown frown.
this new tennin is awesome
Quotethis new tennin is awesomewhy do you build me up, just to let me down?
what does that bunny (moogle?) do, the one you name before you enter Cecil's room? i ran into him again at Mist Cave.
