this has been one of my favorite (if not my favorite) since the first time I saw it, but I kind of burnt myself out after watching it so much.

anyways, got the hd dvd the other week and just popped it in, and can we all agree that this movie is incredibly well edited and directed?

i mean wow.  This reminds me of why on any given day, it can easily be my favorite movie.

the final bookstore scene where the covers of the book are slowly disappearing one by one and then the paintings.  such an awesome movie.

the cinematography :bow :bow

and the "oh my darlin' clementine" song, they make a pretty big deal out of it subtly through the movie.  i love the way it's implied joel lied about it because he was trying to "be nice", but he really didn't know it <3 <3

to each his own.  you definitely have to be in a certain mood for it and/or be interested in romantic movies.  it's just a really fucked up romance.

it was incredibly well created though and very consistent.  The pacing is some of the best i've seen in any movie.  the editing is top notch, no scene is wasted.

ya just rewatched it last weekend as well. Gondry is cool. Also Winslet is kind of hot in the memory scene where Carrey is under the altered-perspective table

Definately the best thing that came out in 2004*. One of those endlessly rewatchable movies, too.

*domestically, anyways. Id give the edge to Downfall overall.

Downfall, the Bruno Ganz Hitler's Bunker movie?  That's an outstanding film.  I hope they get that out on Blu Ray soon.

It's out on Blu-ray in Japan courtesy of Sony. Not sure when Universal plans on releasing it in North America, though.

I just watched this for the first time today, oh man.

Does Michael Gondry have a fetish for incredibly feel-good films? I left Be Kind Rewind with the same feeling I had when this movie wrapped up, same with Chappelle's Block Party too.

What a great movie.

Just watched this tonight, after Cormacaroni recommended it to me on Thursday.
Fucking awesome movie, and especially haunting for a reason I will explain in due course.

:rock

HD-DVD version here. The extras are quite good too, especially Gondry's 'I wanted to speak' story...

can you link me to where I can buy it?  I just got my ps3 and this is my favorite movie.  Plus that cover is better than the US version :bow2

I watched this movie for the first time the week after I broke up with a girl I dated for 6 years.  I haven't felt the desire to watch it again, although I own it on HD-DVD.  It's a fantastic movie that absolutely ripped my heart out.  I'll watch it one day, and probably cry.

That should do it. Or just search for Eternal Sunshine and Blu-Ray if that URL is too long.
holy shit  :lol  It's going to take me a while to navigate and make sure I purchase it correctly.  Thanks.  Can you tell me how much that is in dollars? NVM!  36 bucks :D

Yeah, it's not something I can watch often, being emo and whatnot.  But it does get better everytime I watch it.

mupepe - there is a button saying 'view this page in English' or similar. all the purchasing stuff should switch to English after you hit that.
