The movie is a colossal failure but the chase scene is fuck awesome. At least it's not repetitive and too long like everything in Matrix Reloaded

Specific complaints? I dunno, it's hard to define "crap" at times. If I were to say the acting and script were "crap" that could be used against T1 and T2 to various extents. Instead I would say it's a boring, by the numbers action flick with few interesting moments, characters, or villains. Arnold is rather tame in the film; he's no longer a badass, and instead just a bloated bore. The t-bot is not menacing and I just couldn't take her seriously. Connor is dumb, and while he was whiny in T2 at least he was a cool enough to wear Public Enemy t-shirts

What are you gonna tell me next, Aliens v Predator was a good action flick? How about Van Helsing? Both of those movies are better than T3. Eh...not Van Helsing

I like the Terminator franchise but I'm certainly not a raving fanatic over it; T1 is good but hasn't aged well imo. T3 is just...crap

T3 was funnier on purpose then any other film Arnold ever made. Its got lots of great, the AvClub called it a "Overachieving mercenary sequel." Which pretty much sums it up for me.
I also really liked how the third movie kind of sets up the first movie. At least until the next likely to be terrible installment (McG, ugh), the Terminator franchise is untainted by suck.

I did appreciate the action scenes being crunchy and not using wire-fu, which I think was big that year.

T3 is a fun movie. I wouldn't call it shit because its easy fun action. Yet I don't see any reason for the film to exist. T2 had the perfect ending and closure and its Cameron's series. It'd be like doing Indiana Jones without Spielberg & Lucas or doing a Harry Potter movie not based on a JK Rowling book. It's just wrong.

Thats just stupid. The Terminator, while no T2, is a dark and scary thriller that is well made. T3 is just mindless action. Fun mindless action but thats all that there is to it.

Terminator is by no means Camerons best but it has soul and depth to it. T3 is just a blockbuster.

Mindless action is fun but it alone does not make a film great. If it did then Transformers would have been a good film.

I've never been someone who enjoyed just plain mindless action movies though. If I was rating the 3 t films I'd probably go:

T2 - 9/10
T1 - 7.5/10
T3 - 6.5/10

T1 has more depth to it than T3, more effort and a better written story and script not done purely to have cool action scenes.

It's all moot cause Cameron's best film ain't T2! Or Aliens. My favorite is The Abyss.

The Matrix (sequels) are complete shit so no. Though I am someone who finds the character arc of Darth Vader in the star wars trilogy more interesting than the lightsaber fights. The only good part of Return of the Jedi.

Yes, 100%. T2 had the perfect ending. I could have accepted it if it was Cameron coming up with a sequel though I'd be a bit hesitant since T2 ended so perfectly. But a cameron-less sequel to a film that did not need one? Come on.

I haven't seen the movie since theaters - and my BluRay copy wont be here till after Xmas - but I remember thinking it was hilarious seeing Arnold's exaggerated robot walking.

Terminator 2 hasn't aged well, and I'm not talking about special effects. The "no fate but what we make" message you're beaten over the head with throughout the film seems so overwrought and a bit silly when watching it nowadays. The only Terminator film which has any internal logic whatsoever is the first one, really. I like them all, but I actually like T3 moreso than T2 because it never pretends to ba anything more than what it is - a gleefully destructive action flick with a wonky science fiction plot.

According to the videogame "Terminator: Dawn of Fate" That isnt Jo'connors intention...reese and John are to travel to Skynet @ Nourad to stop the time machine from sending the terminator back to prevent Jo'connor from being born - the fact that reese goes thru time is a last minute resort and not the plan.

It isnt pre-meditated MILF pimping on J O'connors behalf.
