Author Topic: Help me celebrate my PS3's region-freeness (Read 2483 times)

I am back in America for the holidays, nom nom nomming cake and pie and becoming your typical Western fatty. I am up 4lb so there's way more of me to love. Anyhoo, whenever I walk into Best Buy or something of the sort I'm taken aback by their large selection of PS3 titles, and remind myself how wonderful it is that the the PS3 is all region free and shit.

That being said, are there ANY PS3 games that aren't Ratchet or Uncharted that are recommendable to someone who already has a 360?

(I saw giant piles of Rock Band and GH3, and asked the Clerk Guy if any of them were for 360, and he replied that the entire remaining stock of Rock Band and GH3 games/accessories were all for PS3 and had been sitting there all December and nobody was buying them)

UT3 = Hmmm this might be worth a shot. The fact that I'll be able to use PC mods is VERY attractive to me. I may actually pick this up over the eventual 360 one.

HS didn't feel 15fps at all... except maybe the last level where you're on the battlefield

Honestly the only thing that's coming to mind is Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and even then I have some reservations in recommending it.

I actually had more fun watching the cutscenes in Heavenly Sword than I did playing it.

Some of us were there day 1. Day 1 for the hardware, and day 1 for every major release.

You have a habit of buying things and not touching them though (you just said you haven't touched Folklore), being there "day 1" is irrelevant

thank you, you just reminded me that I have a box of fun dip behind me that I won at chuck e' cheeses yesterday and I am in the mood for something sweet.

sho, I don't know if it's your type of game but you can try to track down the limited edition of Stranglehold (I see the game on shelves still) since it comes with the Bluray version of Hardboiled. game felt repetitive but dumb fun and the movie has to be good and I don't imagine it'll cost more than $30 these days. make sure it's the limited edition though.

apparently the version of hard boiled on that disc has audio sync issues. it's like $40 at best buy, and i was thinking of buying it, but fuck that. gj midway

i don't remember the exact details, but apparently midway weren't supplied with a remastered audio track to go with the remastered video, and they had to use some old audio track that didn't sync perfectly

Finished it on 360 months ago, fun little game imho

Really the only thing that comes to mind is Unreal Tournament III. Can't think of anything else worthwhile that hasn't come out in Japan already.

I need to play UT3 already, but damn it every time I'm about to, I end up throwing Halo 3 into the 360 instead.
