What are the options for old Dex? He's chased down a serial killer in season one, and then he's been chased down in season two. What angle can they realistically pull at this point?
I dunno, Dexter has to sort of start over now. I think that can be mined for a storyline. I mean, the whole discovering who he really is thing, involved him learning more about Harry and coming to terms with what he truly is. I think that can be seen in opening some new thematic avenues. As far as plotting goes, like I said, they are in a position where they can ditch most, if not all, of the main cast, and that would open up endless possibilities. . .or at least a new season's worth of them.
I'm skeptical, too. Lightning rarely strikes twice, and unless you are The Shield, chances are your show isn't going to get better season after season, climax after climax. Heck, I was surprised by season two here, especially after a not so impressive start. I really want them to hook me like that again, for a third time. Can they do it? I have my doubts, but I had my doubts about the second time, as well. Much like Dyack's Too Human, I very much want to be proven wrong and surprised

I hope they can pull it off again.
